Need Your Thoughts
I know it has been a really long time since we have posted and I am posting now because I would really like some positive thoughts out there for Bismarck. He has been having some health issues. It started out with him tripping over things and now his balance is off that he is falling all the time (mostly to the right). His back legs fall out from under him, muscle weekness. He has been on steroids hoping that it would help but it did not. Some blood work came back that he has hyperthyroidism and I have put him on meds for that this weekend but my vet said she has never had a hyperthyroid present with the symptoms he has so she will be consulting with a specialist on Monday. She said she didn't want to scare me, but there is a possibility of a stroke or a tumor. More test will need to be done, probably an MRI. I just want him to feel better. It is breaking my heart to see him like this. I will post when I know more.

Thank you so much for the sweet comment on our Alfred. I know how much you love these little doggies, too. I am so sorry to hear about Bismarck's episodes. Our Baxterman started having some seizures. He would circle to the right and his paw would knuckle under. The vet said for us to watch and document how often it occurred. I cannot remember now if he was put on medication or not. He did not do it very often at all but I just cannot remember now if we had him on medicine or not. My sister's dachshund started having some seizures where he would just fall out. when it first started happening, she thought he was dead, but he was all right. This started happening when he was old. I'll ask her what the vet said and about it and if he was on medication. Hugs to you.
